The 5 Most-Impactful Steam Trades in My Life

There’s something kinda nice about having all my years of gaming stored on Steam. For people like me who got into the scene late, I can pretty much track my entire life through my Steam history, traipse through old screenshots and reviews to see what I was into during those phases of my life. But at least personally, the tab with the most nostalgia is somewhat hidden away in a dusty corner of the inventory screen. Expanding the dropbar near “Trade Offers” lets you see an itemized list of everything you’ve ever done to alter your inventory across Steam’s many… [Continue Reading]

5 Payday Weapon Skins that are Pay-2-Win (In a Good Way!)

Payday 2 DLCs come with some great gun attachments that can drastically change your favorite weapons’ playstyles. Normally, you can’t equip these attachments unless you own its DLC, but some DLC mods are actually baked into certain weapon skins, and if you buy these skins on the Steam Community Market you can use those mods even if you don’t own their DLCs. In this video, I’m covering some cheap skins that base players should consider buying not for their looks, but for the gun mods they unlock. These are 5 SKINS WITH GAME-CHANGING DLC ATTACHMENTS and again, I paid a… [Continue Reading]

The New Steam Library

I’ve been meaning to write an update about the new Steam Library look for a while, but I’ve not been able to put my finger on when it comes to what I do and don’t like about it. But frankly, the very first thing I did when I saw the new Steam Library was roll my eyes. The second thing I did, as soon as I saw the Steam Library, was wonder why it was weirdly slow. Turns out, the Steam Library shows a ton of community stuff and has loads of transitions and things like that. Thanks to the… [Continue Reading]

Parts of The Steam Lunar Sale are a Bit of a Rip Off

The Steam Lunar Sale sounds very nice on the surface. A bunch of random sales celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year. Because that’s suddenly a thing now. In fact, everyone seems to be celebrating all of a sudden. To me, it feels like an excuse to make even more money off us poor normal folks, and it seems fitting that companies have picked the Year of the Pig to do so. But anyway, as well as your standard Steam sales and sales on games with Chinese publishers and developers, you can also get €5 off purchases over €30. Sounds great,… [Continue Reading]

Your Royal Gayness – New Visual Novel Released on Steam

Your Royal Gayness was a successfully-Kickstarted visual novel that passed through Steam Greenlight. For the past few months, I’ve been writing quests for the project, and yesterday the game was finally released! All of my quests are random encounters, so you may see them whenever a daily event pops up to make your life more complicated. My personal favorite involves a national scarab-racing team. Have fun!

Left 4 Dead: The Birth of a Genre

Left 4 Dead was a great game. It had the perfect mix of arcadey action and strategic gameplay to entice shooter fans of every skill level, while also having amazing writing and atmosphere that really sold the survival horror aesthetic. Sure, it wasn’t the first 4-player coop (Yahtzee even griped in his Left 4 Dead 2 review about how commonplace those sorts of games were), but it carved a niche for itself that is so prevalent nowadays that I’d call an entire subsection of Co-op horde shooters “Left 4 Dead clones”. Left 4 Dead famously came into existence when the… [Continue Reading]

Outland Free on Steam Until June 8th!

Thanks to MysticTheMeemM for finding this one! Outland is a third-person platformer where the player “uses powers of light and dark in an epic journey to save the world from forces of chaos”, to quote the Steam page. I haven’t played it, I’m actually at work and this article is more of a thought experiment to see if I can successfully write and publish an article entirely from my smart phone during my lunch break. Hope you get your money’s worth!

Alan Wake Is Getting Removed From Steam

Alan Wake is one of my favorite games of all time, as evidenced by the number of articles that reference it despite me never explicitly dedicating one to it or its sequel Alan Wake’s American Nightmare.  The story-driven narrative is exciting and suspenseful, with a cast of memorable characters and a plot that feels like living through a Stephen King novel, interspersed with Twilight Zone-style twists and framed around a flashlight-based combat system that never lets you fully feel in control of the situation. Well, if you’re hoping to buy Alan Wake for yourself, don’t dally because at the end of this weekend… [Continue Reading]

Saints Row 2 is Free For One Day!

If you’ve ever wanted to play the best game in the Saints Row series, now’s your chance! GOG.com and Steam having a free giveaway today only! The comments section seems to say that the GOG version is more stable than the Steam version, which I certainly hope because the Steam version is among the worst PC ports I’ve ever played in my life. But it’s free, so you don’t really lose anything by grabbing it, and if it does work you’ll get the chance to play my personal favorite sandbox game of all time. Stilwater is bursting with personality, the combat… [Continue Reading]

5 More of My Favorite Nude Mods on Steam

(Heads up! These images are pixel-censored, but this is still definitely a Not-Safe-For-Work article. Please also assume that all links will be to NSFW sites) My previous article on nude mods is one of our most popular despite a complete absence of advertising on our part. In the seven months since being published, it has consistently charted in our Top Ten Most Viewed every single day and I’d be silly to not do a follow-up. But actually, I’d have trouble writing a sequel because I don’t want to endorse any mods I haven’t personally used, and I stuck most of my favorites… [Continue Reading]
