On Finally Catching a Cosmog

Curse this Pixelmon server. Curse it and its temptation. The fact that this server, in order to curb auto-fishing, allowed you to fish up random Pokemon like a Super Rod with an increased chance of shinies is bad enough, but some evil bastard decided to put Cosmog, the legendary starry cloud Pokemon from Generation 7, into the pool of potential rewards. It’s an interesting idea as it forces people to actually be in-game and fight Pokemon and unable to just leave a macro and an auto-fishing redstone contraption running, but it sent me on a spiraling quest to obtain one… [Continue Reading]

The Brand New Disruption Game Mode

Disruption is a new game mode that was added alongside the rest of the Jupiter facelift update, combining the new tilesets, Alad V, the Sentients, the Corpus and Amalgams all in one place. It’s an endless game mode which scales worryingly fast and has a strange reward tier system. It’s also very dimly lit, unlike many other Jupiter tile sets. The premise is simple. You kill enemies, find conduit keys and shove them into corresponding terminals. You have to defend the terminals. But as each one is activated, Alad V will release a Demolyst, a strong, ability-resisting hulking red Amalgam.… [Continue Reading]

Pretty Pretty Little Wispy Wisp

I don’t normally pay Platinum to rush Warframes, but there’s something about Wisp that made me pay the 39 Platinum needed to claim her before her last 19 hours were up. In fact, something went and made me spend 75 platinum on the alternate helm for Wisp as well. I very rarely do that. In fact, when I first saw Wisp, I only caught glimpses of her. I didn’t actually see how nice she was or any of her custom animations or anything. But over the last few days I’ve been seeing tons of other people playing Wisp and, well… [Continue Reading]

The Things a Pissed off Sentient Says

I’ve been thinking way too hard about how everyone talks to us during the Ropalolyst fight. I mean, Alad V’s words are pretty standard for Alad V. He’s always been a double-crosser, about as loyal as a snake covered in oil being thrown into a cage of mice and only about seventeen times as slippery. He’ll do anything for power and money for his experiments. He’ll claim that it’s to bring peace to the solar system but really it’s all to inflate his own self worth. Then again, it turns out that Alad V was tricked by a mimic pretending… [Continue Reading]

The Fight with Rory the Ropalolyst

The other major thing added in the Jovian Concord is the massive fight with the flying Eidolon, the Ropalolyst. It is a gigantic, screeching monster that spends its time hovering around glowing generators that can power a floating city. The Ropalolyst is also an intelligent being who has commanded Alad V to work for him, so when us Tenno come by, Alad V is very happy to have an opportunity to switch loyalties yet again. So we murder the Ropalolyst, a certain someone gets all pissed off, Alad V is happy and we get some minor loot in the form… [Continue Reading]

The Lapras Raid Event

I kinda wish Niantic would do more Raid events like the Lapras raid event that just happened. Like the Legendary Birds raid events and the Gengar raid day, the Lapras raid day stuck a raid on every single available gym (assuming it didn’t already have a raid on it) that’s available for three hours. During this time you have an increased chance of getting a shiny (which is a guaranteed catch if you get a shiny from a successful raid) and everyone gets 5 free orange Raid Passes, valid only for the raid event. When I first heard of the… [Continue Reading]

An Unwelcome Monologue

The Jovian Concord brings with it some very strange new… story elements. We discovered in the later end of Night Wave episode 1 that Alad V was making Amalgam beings – beings that were part Sentient, part something else, and that whole Sentient Hybrid thing is basically a massive part of this new update. Actually, it’s the main theme of this update, probably more so than “Jupiter gets a makeover”. There’s more Sentients in this update than on the Plains of Eidolon. And the Plains of Eidolon are covered with bits of dead Sentient. Spoilers ahead, by the way. But… [Continue Reading]

Jupiter’s New Look – The Jovian Accord

The Jovian Accord is Warframe’s latest big update, featuring a new boss fight, a new game mode, a new Warframe, some new weapons, some new enemies and, most importantly, a complete do-over of the Jupiter Gas City Tileset. Now, the Gas City Tileset isn’t really that old. In fact, there are plenty of planets that actually needed reworks way before Jupiter did. Saturn, the other major gas giant, shares all the same tilesets that Mercury does and has most of its missions on Grineer ships. Meanwhile, Neptune and Pluto both share tilesets with Venus and Europa. But alas, we got… [Continue Reading]

A Few Thoughts for Four Games of Fortnite

So I played Fortnite. I’ve actually had it installed for a while, for so long in fact that when I actually got around to actually playing it with actual people, I had to download a 6GB update. And… despite the huge fan base, despite the love it or hate it attitude people have, I… I kinda don’t really have much to say about it. I mean, I have things I could say about it, but none of it is particularly interesting and most of what I have to say has probably already been said before. I’m going to try and… [Continue Reading]

5 Cool Melee Weapons You Should Try

Destroying your enemies with fancy sticks is always a good way to pass the time. But there are a huge number of melee weapons in Warframe, so which ones are worth using? Which ones are good? And more importantly, which ones are fun? Now, I’m of the opinion that you should try at least every main type of weapon, but for those who just want to use something fun, here’s five of the coolest and most fun melee weapons you can use. The Zenistar Of course the Zenistar is on this list. For a long time, the Zenistar was the… [Continue Reading]
