Dawnguard Snipin’ – Part 4

You know what’s bloody depressing? A purple, agony-filled hell-hole. But that’s where I currently am, after the events from last time round. I gotta go and find bitchy vampire girl’s mummy in this nasty place. Alright, let’s get this over with. Huh, this place is creepy. And purple. I suppose it’s as good a place as any to hide from some crazy vampire guy. There are weird glowing things dotted around the landscape, but I have no idea what any of them do. Jumped into one, nothing happened. Like, at all. They just look pretty. There’s a bunch of random… [Continue Reading]

On Performance Enhancing Stuff

On December 2nd, there was a patch. In that patch came things to do with forcing people to use DX9 or higher for competitive matchmaking. This made me very angry. I am now going to proceed by complaining about this. DX 8 does lack some of the features that DX 9 has. You don’t get outlines around Payload carts and around whoever’s carrying the intelligence. You miss out on various cosmetic effects. Some things glitch out and have a strange fire texture on them instead of their normal textures, which looks awesome on Pyro cosmetics but shit on other things.… [Continue Reading]

Happy Independence Finland

First, lets get some music here: Now that we are listening one of the most beautiful pieces of orchestrated music in recent history (and by recent I mean music made from 1800 forwards), we shall discuss what this national holiday entails, and a little bit of the other holiday on the same date, St. Nicholas’ day. First thing to discuss about this independence day is what was we became independent from. Now, I could go into a lot more detail about the entire history of this region from about 1100 (when the crusades started to come into the north) all… [Continue Reading]

Distractions

Though I’ve seen plenty of articles on the Daily SPUF about TF2’s loadouts, balance, and players, as well as a ton of pieces on favorite maps and cosmetics, classes and weapons, I haven’t seen much about distractions. I’m not talking about in-game distractions, like the Sandvich Heavy that’s been crouch-walking everywhere for the last 10 minutes, or the 2nd Engineer that insists on placing his Sentry right next to yours. These distractions would make a good article of their own, but it would probably be of a darker tone. Decline and Fall of the TF2 Playerbase, anyone? Now where was… [Continue Reading]

Secrets and Hidden Content in Left 4 Dead 2

Left 4 Dead 2, like any game, has loads of code/assets that ultimately went completely unused. But some of them are accessible via use of console commands (often in conjunction with sv_cheats 1), letting you see and play with cool beta content! 1. Hidden reload for the Hunting rifle. At one point, the hunting rifle had a much more complicated reload before Valve changed it to something shorter and simpler. But you can still accidentally access the older reload by holding a non-inventory item (like a gas can), throwing it with m1 and immediately shoving with m2. No, I have… [Continue Reading]

Skins, Skins, Skins!

I told you about the crates, bro, I told you.  It just keeps happening.  Now, its even oozing into non-Valve games.  As you may know, Payday has recently implemented a crate system, full of colorful (and gaudy) gun skins, and Killing Floor 2 now has cases to open as well.  Although those only have hats, how unfortunate.  Let’s take a look. Counter Strike: Global Offensive was the first game to implement these gun skins.  These skins serve as the only thing to find in the crates, indeed they are the only way to personalize your particular character, unlike TF2 and… [Continue Reading]

Unboxing… Stuff

You know, last time I spoke about this, I bitched and whined about how my brother always unboxes the best shit ever. Sister also did unboxing and got… stuff. It actually kinda got me thinking about things. There’s a huge number of crates around. I’m pretty certain we’ve sailed past the 100 crates mark. The Gun Mettle cases, the Invasion ones, the Gargoyle Cases, they’ve surely put us past 100, right? Unless you’re going to be pedantic and say they’re cases, not crates. If you still need a key to open them, they’re still essentially crates. But the majority of… [Continue Reading]

And Now For Something Completely Different…

Being an editor, writer and publisher on a deranged blog of insanity has its upsides and downsides. The upsides are that it’s awesome essentially having my own blog where I can write about kinda almost everything, but the downsides are, well, this is a Team Fortress 2 blog. Almost everything we’ve written on this blog has been connected in some way to both Team Fortress 2 and our little, fading community on the Steam User Forums. A community that used to be actually rather busy, and one that’s kinda not really allowed to talk about our other interests. Of course… [Continue Reading]

Player Solos All Payday the Heist Maps On Hardest Difficulty

While Payday 2 is certainly the more popular of the two games, Payday the Heist is indisputably harder. With seemingly endless waves of punishing aimbot police officers, the hardest difficulty “Overkill 145+” has remained the domain of only the most skilled teams of heisters. Until now. Yesterday, Signor Tromboncino uploaded his playthrough of No Mercy, completing his playlist of soloing the entire game. For four of the heists he had bots and for the remaining five he was completely alone against the best the Washington PD had to throw at him. His loadout of choice is the Bronco revolver, M308, and Grenade Launcher, though he doesn’t hesitate… [Continue Reading]

Scouts are prissy little babies who get whatever they want

You know what? I don’t hate Spy. He works hard to do his job, with so much threatening to screw him over. Even when Spy is strong, he has plenty of weaknesses. I don’t actually hate Sniper the most either. He’s got a good personality. He has somewhat defined weaknesses. I brought the bastard back to life. He’s somewhat bearable. But Scout? Fuck him. Actually, no, don’t fuck him. Scout doesn’t deserve to lose his virginity. Plus, rule 34 messes with Scout enough as it is. But Scout is so fricking hateful. In fact, the only similar character I hate… [Continue Reading]
