The world of Team Fortress 2 is a huge place. There’s rocks, weapons and hats everywhere. No matter where you look, you find little tidbits that are vaguely interesting, and they’re not always hats or something, just parts of the landscape that we’ve just not noticed. Let’s have a look at a couple of maps…
The Art of Crouch-Dodging
Is jumping around and tapping A+D not working out? Do you feel as though you can’t outsmart a marksman Sniper or Ambassador Spy when they headshot you in the air?
Well, today gentlemen and gentleladies, I’m going to teach you one of the most interesting dodging techniques exclusively invented, extensively field-tested by myself, IceFuse, aggravating-virtuoso.
Giddeon and Other TF2 Pets

Pets are a fairly new thing in Team Fortress 2. The very early pets were things like the brain slug for Pyro and the Parasite from that free game with aliens that everyone’s forgotten about. You know, that one. With the four players. Not Left 4 Dead, that was zombies… Oh never mind. But these days, we have a HUGE range of animals to follow us around.
TF2 Artsyle: The Good, The Hat and The Ugly

TF2 has it’s own cartoony and contrasting artsyle, and everyone knows that. In the last years the art direction of TF2 has changed a lot, with the simplicity of early hats being replaced with all the different items, hats, boots and things like that. The robots arrived and then the world behind our beloved/hated pyromaniac’s eyes was revealed… The people agree that TF2 has become basically a clustertruck of hats nowadays. Is it good or bad?

Sandbagging – A Problem?
TeamFortress.TV is known to many (and to some proudly) as a ripe source of drama within the competitive community. Whether it’s the newest revelations about the ESEA scandal, players getting VAC banned, or a top player leaving a team, TF.TV will gulp it all up. This week has brought renewed attention upon a certain phenomenon – sandbagging. To recap, the ESEA Main grand finals took place on Wednesday night between Street Hoops eSports and AG Rinkuing with Rinku. AG Rinkuing with Rinku, which had been a roster moved down from Invite that had recently picked up several Invite players to… [Continue Reading]
January 23rd – January 30th

A fairly exciting week, this week, on 25th January, saw the addition of everyone’s completely forgotten favourite CTF map, CTF_Well, as well as some particle optimizations and a few bug fixes, particularly on Gravelpit. It took a very long time though for some very simple things, such as Medics getting a percentage on their Ubercharge meters. This wasn’t added until January 28th in 2009! Also added were the update progress and the level of an Engineer’s buildings in their HUD.
How to be an Average Medic

Let me be honest, I’m not the best Medic in the world. Nor am I of high level competitive standards. My level of skill is average, UGC Cardboard if you will. But nonetheless, since I’m an average Medic, that means that 50% of all other Medics are better than me, and the other 50% aren’t as good as me. There’s some room for improvement, not just from me, but from that other 50% as well.
In today’s article, I’m going to give you some tips on how to be an average Medic. I won’t be going into huge detail, as this is just a suggestion, rather than the monstrous guides that some fellow Medics of SPUF are working on. Plus, it’d be almost insulting for me to give you tips on how to be a pro Medic…
Parts of official maps you can blow up
Did you know that in TFC the demoman could drop a detpack which blew up specific parts of official maps, opening up new pathways for teammates? TF2 doesn’t have anything destroyable with that much influence on the game flow, but there areĀ surprising number of things in official maps that don’t take well to damage. Luckily, this being TF2, most of them do indeed blow up.
Headshot-Avoiding Unusuals

Alright, so you’ve bought yourself a fancy unusual. Or maybe you unboxed it. Good for you. Well done. But do you realise that you are now 99% more visible to the enemy team? No, I’m not referring to the bug where the Disco Beat Down effect could be seen through thin walls. I’m talking about the fact that you have a large glowing sign that says “Shoot me!” on your head.
Maybe we ought to avoid this. Here’s my list of Headshot-avoiding unusuals.
