Inktober 2018 – A Roundup of Images

Turns out, there was a Warframe Inktober thread on the official Warframe forums, in which people who successfully drew something every day for October could get a nice glyph. That’s a shame for me, because I spent my time drawing a load of crap that no one gets. Well, I say a load of crap, it makes more sense when it’s explained, picture by picture. In this article, I’m going to describe what the hell I drew for Inktober 2018. To start off, all the images are related to the Phoviverse, my collection of short stories and weird characters. Day… [Continue Reading]

How Do They Eat? Early Warframe Lore Ideas

It’s been known for years that the Warframes we use to kick the asses of Corpus, Grineer and Infested weren’t always what we thought they were. They were never really just people. What they were, we didn’t know. Early lore suggested that the original Warframes were feral and terrifying, hungry, destructive monsters. Rhino Prime’s codex entry (unlocked by owning Rhino Prime and viewing him in your Codex on your ship) was one such example, noting a story from an Orokin scientist, watching as an early Rhino Warframe kills and eats his fellow scientists, only to be calmed by the presence… [Continue Reading]

The Amazing Art of a Madwoman

Anyone can be an artist if they try hard enough. Sure, having parents who are good at art can help, but art itself is something you spend a long time on, practicing and trying over and over again, working towards some form of perfection. Then again, arty parents can sometimes not help at all, there’s natural talent but even that needs to be refined and taught over time. Most importantly, there needs to be a passion for art. Artistic talent is something that runs in my family. My mum’s side of the family has always been artistic. It passed down… [Continue Reading]

Medical Necessity Dev Diary #8

Happy Saturday! As mentioned last time, we’re moving heavily into the “content creation” phase and out of the “setting up the core elements of the game” phase, which means we’ve got lots of exciting new art and quality-of-life assets to showcase! There are three major new elements this GIF showcases. Firstly, Carry finished an update to the camera; now the screen will zoom in or pull out so the full team can be seen at any given time. We’re still planning on finding a hybrid compromise between this new camera and the aforementioned off-screen indicators for specific far-off characters (right… [Continue Reading]

Art Attack

First off, I know… It’s perfection. You’re envious, I understand, truly, I do! No-one will ever hold a candle to, nevermind best, my godlike art skills. As painful as that realisation is, that’s not the point of this article. Besides, that pain would be a fraction of a fraction compared to the pain caused by Hi-Rez Studios when their beloved hero shooter Paladins with executed in cold-blood with the introduction of the Cards Unbound system. *shivers* Truly a chilling tale never to be forgotten by the victims of this atrocity. The community fought back in spite of the constant denials to… [Continue Reading]

31 Days of Inktober

Quick Warning – lots of images ahead. Turn off mobile data if you’re using it! The images aren’t that big, but if you’ve got a small amount of data like me (I only have 100MB a month), you’ll want to save it. So I decided to give Inktober a go. One picture a day for the entirety of October. It’s not like I need any more things I need to do, what with my 500 words a day, keeping this site going and all my real life stuff that has to be done in a day. Basically, Inktober is one… [Continue Reading]

Cardboard Weaponry – The Medi Gun

I’ve made a lot of cardboard weapons over the years, most of which are replicas of TF2 weapons. This year though, only two new weapons have joined my arsenal. The problem is that I’m running out of space for all these weapons, and since I’m planning on moving out at some point, I can’t exactly take them all with me when I do. I’m considering selling them, but really, how much are people willing to pay for replica weapons made out of masking tape, glue, toilet roll tubes and cereal boxes? Plus they’re fragile and will probably arrive smashed to… [Continue Reading]

Cardboard Weaponry – The Flamethrower

My obsession with cardboard replicas of weapons is an odd one. Sadly, as the walls close in and I run out of space to put all my weapons, it seems that my future cardboard weapon exploits will fall towards smaller weapons, mostly secondary weapons. Why? Because I made a flamethrower and it’s taking up way too much room right now. The cardboard Flamethrower is probably the most oxymoronic weapon I’ve made. A replica flamethrower made out of an incredibly flammable material. Seriously, cardboard is cool to set on fire and it glows nicely if it’s coated in plastic… don’t try… [Continue Reading]

A Distinct Lack of Comics and Love

I LOVE the TF2 comics. I really do. They, and by extension all the other non-game media we get for TF2, are all absolutely amazing, bringing a new dimension to what is otherwise just a cartoony first person shooter. Valve have said it themselves, comics and videos are a third way to actually give TF2 some sort of story, even if it is absolutely batshit crazy. But although I can understand delays in these things, sometimes there’s something… missing. Part of the reason why I’m writing this article is because Jay Dorris hasn’t finished his article. Jay Dorris is a… [Continue Reading]

Cardboard Weapon Bonanza!

This morning, I sat in bed staring at my bookcase, the top of which is adorned with cardboard Team Fortress 2 weapons that I’ve made over the years. Very dusty ones. I’ve mentioned my cardboard weapons many times in the past, with my collection of Medic melee weapons, and even wrote about how to make your own shotgun. So I decided to maybe find all my cardboard weapons, finished and unfinished. The result was worrying. Thing is, cardboard is a really good modelling material. I can’t afford stuff like Worbla, the weird card material that hardens under heat and is… [Continue Reading]
