Kinda Wondering What the Point of the Kanto Tour was…

So, now that the Kanto Tour is actually over and we’ve moved into the Kanto Celebration… I’m kinda wondering what the point of the Kanto Tour was. We had 12 hours of catching Kanto Pokemon, followed by a week of more Kanto. And that’s on top of all the Kanto-themed events we’ve had over the last few months. Not to mention the Kanto-themed Community Days. It was basically GO Fest but Kanto only. The Kanto Tour was interesting. Just like GO Fest, it was split into various hours, ‘visiting’ various towns and cities from Pokemon Red and Green. Pokemon spawned… [Continue Reading]

The Hectic Kanto Event

The Kanto Tour has come and gone in Pokemon GO and it was… a thing. There were a ton of bonuses, a ton of raids and a LOT of Pokemon to catch. But was it worth the €12 ticket price? And did everything actually work? Well, kinda. So much to do, so little time. We basically had lots of mini events running at the same time. Not only did we have a bunch of special raids, but we had special research and “today tab” research too. There was one mini-quest in the Today tab about battling NPCs, the shiny Ditto… [Continue Reading]

I Really Enjoyed the Team Rocket Celebration Event

As you may recall, I love doing Team Rocket battles. It’s so much fun, beating on a grunt and their weirdly overpowered Pokemon. The fact that we can do these fights regularly has been great for pandemic-based playing. And the slower rotation of Team Rocket Leaders means i more easily got the shiny shadows I wanted. However, it wasn’t always quite enough. Four battles a day is alright, but I long for more. The Team Rocket Celebration event kicked battling up too 100, with almost constant battles available. Balloons every 2 hours! That’s right, we got a Team Rocket fight… [Continue Reading]

Ticker’s Star Days Niceness

Ticker’s probably one of the best characters in Warframe. How can you not love someone who loves everyone else so much? Unlike most of Fortuna’s dealers, Ticker spends her time trying to buy out other people’s debt, and allows you to do the same. And to celebrate Star Days, Ticker is doing some nice things. Before you ask, Star Days is just an in-universe version of Valentines Day. Except it’s all about loving everyone. Love in all its forms, as Ticker herself would say. It’s a sweet thought, and much nicer than our own commercial holiday. For Star Days, Ticker… [Continue Reading]

A Mareep Incense Event

Incense events are weird. All the spawns around you stay the same. In fact, the only difference is that Incense spawns different Pokemon, sometimes changing what spawns based on what time it is. There’s no research to go alongside the incense, it’s just throw the incense on and hope you catch a shiny. This Mareep event is no different. In this event, we get electric spawns and dragon spawns. Because Mareep’s final evolution, Ampharos, has appeared in Mega Raids. And Mega Ampharos is an electric/dragon type. As part of this Incense event, you can evolve a Flaafy into an Ampharos… [Continue Reading]

Really, Every Operation Should Have Been Like Plague Star

Operation Orphix Venom is alright. It’s a very basic one-mission operation that’s somewhat easy to play. All you have to do is shoot little red things, then shoot an Orphix in the eye. But the cost of entry to do this mission is actually quite steep. If you want to do well, you need to have a properly modded Necramech and a properly modded Archgun. Two items that most people… don’t really use. Despite those requirements, you can still play the event. If you don’t have a Necramech though, the event is a lot harder. That being said, Orphix Venom… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon GO, its Push for Paid and Ticketed Events and Why This Might Be A Problem

There have been so many events lately, that it’s actually hard to catch normal Pokemon spawns. But we’ve also been getting an increasing number of paid-for ticketed events. Originally, the only pay-to-play events were Go Fest and Safari Zone events, which happened at physical locations. Last year though, Regigigas was introduced through a special research. A special research that you had to buy. While Regigigas later came out in EX raids, this paid for event was originally the only way to obtain Regigigas. Since then, we’ve had a steady trickle of more and more events. Clearly the Regigigas event did… [Continue Reading]

Kalos Event? What Kalos Event?

There is supposedly a Kalos event in Pokemon GO right now. A celebratory event where Pokemon from the Kalos region are spawning. However, there’s barely any trace of any Kalos Pokemon. Very few Kalos Pokemon have been added. So they basically might as well not exist. In the mean time, the game’s expecting us to catch all these new Pokemon for timed research. Let me put it this way, I’ve seen two Froakie in the last 4 days, both of whom spawned late at night at far away Pokestops. And I need a Froakie to complete this dumb timed research.… [Continue Reading]

A Look Back At Pokemon GO’s Halloween Event

Pokemon GO always has pretty good Halloween events, and this year was pretty good as well. There were lots of nice bonuses, lots of Pokemon to catch and plenty of shinies to not be caught. We also had plenty of smaller events alongside the Halloween spawns, and there was plenty of things to do. Of course, though, there were some downsides as well. Amazing event bonuses I mean, who doesn’t like double candy? Even if it’s for things like Gastly and Misdreavus. Ghost types, particularly Gengar and Chandelure, are always helpful Pokemon to have. We also got double transfer candy… [Continue Reading]

Alolan Meowth Community Research Day?

On the 10th of October, there was a community research day that I very nearly forgot about. This event involved doing research tasks. Lots and lots of them. And the reward? Alolan Meowth. With a potential to be shiny. A simple event, easy to do and with an okay chance at a normally rare shiny. Simple, but repetitive. The event went as follows: Do research, get Meowth. The research tasks are a set order, which repeat once. There’s about… 20 tasks which repeat… so 40 tasks total? A lot of them are the same and all of them include “catch… [Continue Reading]
