Fire and Smoke go through the dust, too!

Hey there, fellow people that read The Daily SPUF! As you can probably tell from the name of the article, this one is CS:GO related instead of TF2 related, and today we will be learning some good smokes for the most recognizable map in the Counter-Strike series, Dust2! How I got to like Dust2 is kind of a coincidence, since it was one of my most hated maps (probably due to me liking more CT-sided maps like Nuke instead of balanced ones), but trying out “new” maps I thought that Dust2 is quite OK, and now it’s one of my… [Continue Reading]

Froyotech wins i55

Congratulations to Froyotech, who just beat Nerdrage TF2 3-1 in Insomnia 55. The final scores were 2-3 Sunshine, 3-1 Product, 5-0 Snakewater, 5-0 Process. It was a bit of a shock to Nerdrage, who’d beaten Froyotech in Saturday’s matches. More information is available on teamfortress.tv Also, a big round of applause for everyone involved. i55 was absolutely amazing.

Medic goes to Comicon

And now for something completely different! Yesterday, I went to Cyprus Comic Con. Or CCC as it was called. I dressed up and everything! And because it’s somewhat gaming-related, I feel it’s worth talking about. Plus, I can’t let aabicus do all the real life articles! So yeah, Cyprus Comic Con 2015. This is the second proper one they’ve done. I heard about the 2014 Comic Con last year literally two days too late, and swore I’d go this year. And that’s what I did. The original plan was to go as a TF2 character. But that notion was quickly… [Continue Reading]

Stupidly Simple Changes – Quality of Life Fixes Edition

Originally, I was going to call this article “A bunch of fixes for weapons that totally don’t need it”, but two problems cropped up. Firstly, it’s a stupid idea, no one wants to read about purposefully overpowered weapons, secondly the idea kinda fell flat on its face because there was too much to talk about and thirdly, it’s just dumb. So why not turn to fixes that we could actually do with. You know, like those two Stupidly Simple Fixes articles I did. You know, this one and this one. A Quality of Life fix is basically what the Spy’s… [Continue Reading]

Some other spots to get to (that aren’t that hard!)

This article’s existence is more of the culmination of a running gag than a legitimate article. It’s the Frankensteinian surgery of two articles that both sat laboriously in my Drafts folder for ages, silently judging me every time I opened up WordPress and viewed my dashboard. The earlier article began its life as “Good Offensive Teleporter Spots on Non-Payload Maps”, intended to be a sequel of sorts to this article. It’s only candidate was the first spot on this list, I added it and then continued playing TF2, confident that more would present themselves to me in time. Now here we are… [Continue Reading]

Predictions, Preditions – What will happen in TF Comics #5?

According to Jay Pinkerton, the writing person and one of the maniacs behind the TF Comic series, issue five of this damn thing is coming out on Monday 31st September. So it’s down to me to make an article speculating on what will happen in said comic. Among many, many things. One thing that saddens me is that the first thing people are speculating on is whether the comic will actually come out on Monday or not. That’s really depressing. Dota 2 basically sucked the comic writers dry. Before we begin, there’s a prize at stake here. I’ll give out… [Continue Reading]

Which Way Does the Wind Blow on Your Favorite Map?

Cause there is wind. You may not have known that, but now you can see for yourself. That there is the Buy a Life taunt, added during the Love & War Update. Spy, being the cocky dick he is, pulls out a wad of cash and flings it derisively while taunting his poor & Irish foes. It was the subject of the highest-rated screenshot I ever posted to Steam. But what’s important is that the money always blows in the same direction! No matter what direction you’re facing, no matter how many times you crank the map up. It’s not randomized in… [Continue Reading]

Early Impressions and Strategies for the Beta PASS Game Mode

Let me start by saying that PASS is a hell of a lot of fun. It’s one of the first beta modes that feels like it should be in beta; it’s bizarre and completely different from anything TF2 has tried before, but it’s addicting and condones itself to all sorts of strategies and playstyles that really makes it stand out as a game mode. I genuinely hope this develops its own tournaments and things because it’s just as much fun to watch as it is to play. Everybody is still learning the ropes of this new game mode and there… [Continue Reading]

PASS Time – Pass, or Worth The Time?

I almost heard the collective groans and sighs from TF2 fans all over the world when the update notes dropped. Another Beta gamemode?! Not even a single map has been completed since the Beta started, yet Valve has apparently been busy at work creating yet another thing to be “tested”. What are they thinking? Well, simmer down there. Valve works in mysterious ways – At this point, are you still surprised at Valve making yet another mind-boggling, logic-defying decision? But let’s move on to the topic at hand. What is PASS Time? Think American football – with guns. There is a single ball… [Continue Reading]

Alduin and Amputators – Medic in Skyrim part 8

This is it, ladies and gentlemen! This is the big one! After fighting my way through Skuldafn, I’m finally here in the Nord afterlife. Which makes no sense because I’m an Imperial (apparently) and I shouldn’t be here. Before we continue, if you haven’t, you should read parts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 So it’s pretty here. Very pretty. I mean, just look at the sky. Shame about all the mist. It’s misty and pretty. I bump into someone in the fog. A Stormcloak. Going on about how a giant dragon is going around eating people. Unfortunately,… [Continue Reading]
