Unboxing… Stuff

You know, last time I spoke about this, I bitched and whined about how my brother always unboxes the best shit ever. Sister also did unboxing and got… stuff. It actually kinda got me thinking about things. There’s a huge number of crates around. I’m pretty certain we’ve sailed past the 100 crates mark. The Gun Mettle cases, the Invasion ones, the Gargoyle Cases, they’ve surely put us past 100, right? Unless you’re going to be pedantic and say they’re cases, not crates. If you still need a key to open them, they’re still essentially crates. But the majority of… [Continue Reading]

And Now For Something Completely Different…

Being an editor, writer and publisher on a deranged blog of insanity has its upsides and downsides. The upsides are that it’s awesome essentially having my own blog where I can write about kinda almost everything, but the downsides are, well, this is a Team Fortress 2 blog. Almost everything we’ve written on this blog has been connected in some way to both Team Fortress 2 and our little, fading community on the Steam User Forums. A community that used to be actually rather busy, and one that’s kinda not really allowed to talk about our other interests. Of course… [Continue Reading]

Scouts are prissy little babies who get whatever they want

You know what? I don’t hate Spy. He works hard to do his job, with so much threatening to screw him over. Even when Spy is strong, he has plenty of weaknesses. I don’t actually hate Sniper the most either. He’s got a good personality. He has somewhat defined weaknesses. I brought the bastard back to life. He’s somewhat bearable. But Scout? Fuck him. Actually, no, don’t fuck him. Scout doesn’t deserve to lose his virginity. Plus, rule 34 messes with Scout enough as it is. But Scout is so fricking hateful. In fact, the only similar character I hate… [Continue Reading]

On League of Legends and its Lore

The other day, the new revamp for one of League of Legends’ least popular and hardest to balance champions was announced, and bloody hell, it really is a revamp. The new Poppy looks both amazing and much easier to balance. Because sadly Ubercharge-style abilities don’t work in LoL. This is following the release of Illaoi, the second of the tentacle-using champions and someone who can rip your soul out and use it as a punching bag. Of course, with new characters comes new lore, but League of Legends hasn’t been doing great on that mark. A while ago, before the… [Continue Reading]

Colourblind Mode is Useless

In a game where everyone’s a specific colour and and you need to shoot everyone not wearing the same colour as you, it’s important to know who you are supposed to be shooting and where you’re supposed to be going. This isn’t always possible if you have some form of colourblindness. Some games feature a option or setting, in order to accommodate those who can’t see colours as well as we can. Now, I’m definitely not colourblind. I used to look at those coloured, “can you see the number?” things and easily point out what number it is. I am… [Continue Reading]

Dawnguard Snipin’ – Part 3

G’day! It’s clear that mercenary work here in Skyrim ain’t quite like it is back at home, mates. And after that nasty little crash that invisible flying lizard had in store for me, I ain’t playing around any more. There’s a bunch of vampire mongrels that need killing and I’m just the guy to do it. So here I am in this horrible cave and would you look at that! It’s damn perfect for sniping. Look at that view. I’m going to assume that the glowy blue thing is where I have to go. There’s someone behind it but I… [Continue Reading]

The Isaacing of Binds

I’m a royal pain in the ass when it comes to trying out new games. It’s very easy for them to annoy me and for me to stop playing, assuming I even get started. Elder Scrolls Online for example pissed me off early on by making lockpicking, stealth and archery all a real pain in the backside. No, I wasn’t expecting Skyrim Online, but I expected, I don’t know, something better, especially since it costs so much just to play the base game, and they had subscriptions and now they have an in-game shop. The Binding of Isaac though is… [Continue Reading]

Administering Medication in Mannpower

This article is dedicated to typenter, one of the winners in the 900th article giveaway. Mannpower. The one game mode that no one is really sure about, and the only official one that can make people completely overpowered. But unlike Mann VS Machine, where you have to work towards your strength, and unlike custom community game modes where everyone is overpowered (Multiplied by Ten) or everyone works together to take down one overpowered enemy (Versus Saxton Hale or Freak Fortress), Mannpower’s overpoweredness depends on two things – who can get the power ups first and who’s got the best Scouts.… [Continue Reading]

The Saxxies are back again…

Oh hey, it’s the Saxxies again. And thank heavens they’ve made things a bit easier this time around. Well, kinda. There’s been a slight change in the rules. Short entries are still a minute long (otherwise they wouldn’t be short!) but the other categories have all been decreased to be 3 minutes long, down from 5 minutes. Anyone wishing to do a longer video has to enter in the Extended category, but the maximum is still 5 minutes. I can see why they’d lower this. Almost every entry last year pushed itself right up against that 5 minute mark, and… [Continue Reading]

The Batman TF2 Workshop Contest

This article subject was chosen by thatusernameisaspy, one of the winners in the 900th Article Special. This time last year, we got a TF2 Workshop contest, in which people scrambled to make short shorts for Heavy and other related cosmetics in a Lara Croft item competition. In previous years, we’ve also had things like the Polycount contest and the Hat-Describing contest. But this year is the big one. The TF2 team were pleased to announce that they’d got the rights to make cosmetic items for BATMAN. Or, more precisely, the new Batman Arkham Night game that can’t make up its… [Continue Reading]
