Scream Fortress needs to be scarier.

I have to give the blog and update writers for Team Fortress 2 a lot of credit. Whoever these people are, they are amazing. They rarely fail to amuse, except when they joke that an already very late comic was actually early and the next one won’t be until next year. It’s always full of amusing jokes and all sorts of strange references. The Saxxy Awards for example mentioned Guardians of the Galaxy and Captain America: Winter Soldier. And of course, when Scream Fortress comes around, the poor writers try their best to make it all seem spooky. Except it’s… [Continue Reading]

Art Time With Medic: How To Draw Raccoonicorn

Wowee, it’s been a while since I did one of these. But since I have no idea what I am doing or anything like that, plus I am running out of ideas that are new and nice, I decided to do a quick one of these articles. Oh well. Anyway, you all remember Sketchtoy, a site that lets you draw stuff then give the link to other people, who can then watch as you draw it? Well that’s what I’ve used in today’s article. I was going to use Illustrator, but that’s a bloody expensive program and teaching you all… [Continue Reading]

Making new players stick around a bit more

Team Fortress 2 isn’t as popular as it used to be. For the longest of times, it sat happily at the top of the most played games right now list on Steam, grinning like a lunatic. Now? Not so much. Both Dota 2 and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive have overtaken Team Fortress 2. They basically tripped it up and kicked it in the bollocks. Dota 2 is strong because of the HUGE fan base that already existed, plus cosmetics plus a competitive environment. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive builds off the popularity of the previous games and is a more modern shooter that… [Continue Reading]

A Particularly Pudding-Filled Story

This may or may not be part of a series. So you may want to read this first, then this. Then this one.   Things had been quiet around BLU’s headquarters for a while, but it wasn’t until the machine disappeared that it got really quiet. Spy though enjoyed the quiet and detested the machine. It had a name, but Spy refused to use it. Yes, it had been insanely helpful, keeping robots and REDs at bay for months at a time just by thinking about it, and yes, before it mysteriously disappeared, it did help Engineer and Medic build a giant cannon… [Continue Reading]

Blood on the Water, almost – The new TF2 Comic

So, we FINALLY got the next issue of the TF2 comic, Blood on the Water. And it’s been a bloody long wait. Rather insultingly, the blog post writer said that it was early, as the comic is now yearly. I’m assuming that’s a joke but you never know with these guys. For all we know, the last issue will coincide with Half Life 3 or 4 or something. Anyway, if you haven’t read the new comic yet, read it now, as this article is FULL of spoilers and I wouldn’t want to SPOIL things for you. No sir. Click here… [Continue Reading]

A Particularly Cookie-Filled Story

This may or may not be part of a series. So you may want to read this first, then this.   The portal was only open for a moment. It crackled with electricity, before closing itself up again, leaving nothing but a small burn on the ground. Whatever had created the portal had already disappeared.   Things had been going well for the BLU team for a change. With the robots invading, the RED team had been doing all the stupid work of looking after hat factories, while the BLU Mercenaries had been given the job of, well, lying around… [Continue Reading]

A Particularly Muffin-Filled Story

You may want to read this first.   “Hm…” Nuhvok-Kal shouldn’t have been awake. But he couldn’t sleep. Not when there was that feeling in his body. Since he’d arrived in this messed up, backwards world, he’d get this feeling occasionally. He didn’t like the feeling. Luckily, it was easy to get rid of. He just needed some form of sweetness. Normally, he’d have the sweetness made for him. But it was dark. No one else was awake. He needed to do this himself. The first thing Nuhvok did was sneak down stairs. Everyone else was asleep, but not everyone… [Continue Reading]

TF2 Saxxy Awards Winners and TF2 Update 01/10/14

Welp, the winners have been announced! And I was mostly completely wrong. The only one that I guessed would win and got right was that TF2 in 60 seconds one. Anyway, the winners are: Best Short: Team Fortress 2 in 60 seconds Best Drama: Defect_ Best Comedy: About a Scout Best Action: Rivalry Rush Best Overall: Animation VS Animator! A very interesting pick from Valve. I think everyone knew that TF2 in 60 seconds was going to win and Defect_’s chances were really, really high. But I am genuinely surprised that Animation VS Animator was chosen to be the best overall.… [Continue Reading]

2014 Saxxy Awards

Welp, time for the final four for each category to come in, while Valve try to decide which one is the best and make amusing blog posts about it all. This year though, I am impressed. The entirety of the Action and Comedy sections were ALL ones I votes for (although Tidehunter’s Tactics had a needlessly long blank screen at the end). Very impressive. The Shorts were all very good as well. Surprised that the silly one-day-before-entering thing got nominated, but that’s what the people’s votes do. Drama wasn’t as bad as last year, thankfully with only one soppy FemScout,… [Continue Reading]

Rest in Peace, Hello! thread

On September 29th 2014, the Hello! thread, originally created in the Team Fortress Classic forum, was brutally murdered, after a traumatic last two days. What’s the Hello! thread, you ask? Well, it started off as a joke when TF2 Comics #3: A Cold Day in Hell, was released. Being called the Medic, I realised that I had indeed betrayed my mercenaries and took shelter in the Team Fortress Classic forum. This silly thread slowly turned into first a TF2 discussion thread and then into an itsurblog thread. But the Hello! thread was a nice thread. The pace was slow. The… [Continue Reading]
