The Very Sudden Reappearance of Primed Chamber

A long time ago, back in the distant past of Warframe, there was a mod called Primed Chamber. It is a simple mod. If you install this mod on your sniper rifle, the first shot does up to 100% extra damage. But Primed Chamber, for the longest of times, was a prized reward. Why? Because no one owned Primed Chamber. Well, I say no one. I mean very few people. Originally, only 100 copies of the mod existed. The mod was given out during an event called the Spy Drone Extermination Event. All you had to do was shoot Grineer… [Continue Reading]

Poor Little Sinnoh Event

There’s currently an event in Pokemon Go right now, a three day event featuring Pokemon from the Sinnoh region, i.e. generation 4. But it’s a very small event, somewhat slipped in over a weekend, in the middle of a month that’s absolutely packed with a huge number of rather random events, everything from votes for a Community Day, a World Pokemon Day event and random mystery events as well, not to mention your standard Valentines Day event because of course there has to be a Valentines Day event. So this Sinnoh event is a thing and it’s… kinda small and… [Continue Reading]

December Community Weekend

Pokemon Go decided to end community days for 2019 with a bang by repeating somewhat what they did in 2018, by having a community day weekend, bringing back all of the year’s community day Pokemon for one final send off before leaping into 2020, while also bringing back 2018’s Pokemon. So we get two things: a collection of Pokemon from 2019 and a collection of Pokemon from 2018. One of these was done really well. The other, not so much. When it comes to the implementation of the 2019 community day stuff, I couldn’t be happier. We get two days’… [Continue Reading]

Pokemon GO had its first premium event. Was it worth getting?

Pokemon GO has extensively used in-game events to spice up the playerbase or showcase a new pokemon, and for the most part they’ve been very well received. But the recent Colossal Discovery, heralding the return of the Regis and the arrival of their overlord Regigigas, received a tepid response from the community at best due to being a premium event. You had to shell out $7.99 if you wanted to experience the event spawns, complete event researches, and catch the early-access Regigigas at the end. Was it worth it? Do you have a ticket for A Colossal Discovery? Be sure… [Continue Reading]

PUNCH IT TO DEATH – Darkrai and the Pokemon Go Halloween Event

Pokemon Go’s Halloween event is up, and out of all the games I play regularly, Pokemon Go has had the best spooky event so far. Not only is the Spiritomb special research back, this time rewarding a Litwick and a Yamask as well as Spiritomb, there’s also a bunch of vaguely new things to do too, like a new level 5 raid boss. Most of the Pokemon Go Halloween event is pretty simple. Dark and Ghost type Pokemon are spawning more frequently, which I love because I’m still after a shiny Drifloon and shiny Houndour, and there’s a new costume… [Continue Reading]

1000 Pearls for a Captura Scene – The Most Boring Grind Ever

I’m going to be honest, the gimmick has worn thin, the fun has faded from the Dog Days event. It’s a really fun little game mode when you’re playing for the main advertized rewards, but when you realise just how much you need to play for the rewards that Nakak is hiding, well, it’s just… not fun. At all. You see, there’s only one map. There’s the same old set of enemies. Nothing changes from round to round apart from other players, if you have them. Sure, you can be somewhat creative with Aero Vantage and set mods (I did… [Continue Reading]

Dog Days – A Wet Warframe Tactical Alert

Warframe has a lot of weird things in it. It has flying backpacks that allow you to fly through space, it has pet dogs, cats and robotic birds, you can drive around on skateboards and do all sorts. Also, for some reason, for the next week or so, you can fight Grineer executioners with water pistols in a massive beach water fight. Or, as drunk, gas-inebriated Kela De Thayme calls it, a waddafite. Seriously, when Red Text popped up on a Friday evening talking about everyone’s favourite female Grineer boss being drunk and making puns about water pistols and stuff,… [Continue Reading]

Buried Debts – Not A Fun ARG At All

Turns out, there’s a whole Buried Debts ARG (Augmented Reality Game) tied in with the Thermia Fractures event. I mentioned the whole Data Hashes thing briefly in my previous article, but I want to talk about these data hashes specifically. The premise is simple. The players need to find and scan a bunch of data hashes, 14 in total. As you scan them, Eudico and Zuud will start discussing things. The data hashes lead to a secret on the edge of the Orb Vallis. The community needs to band together and scan all of these things to unlock further secrets.… [Continue Reading]

Operation Very Slow Mobile Defense

So there is a new Operation out in Warframe. For those who don’t know what an Operation is, it’s basically an event that lasts about a week or so and requires players to do specific tasks. The Razorback Armada and the Balor Fomorian missions for example are old Operations that are brought back occasionally. Other Operations include Plague Star, Ambulas Reborn and the Pacifism Decect. Ghoul Purge is also basically an Operation but that one reappears on a regular basis because weapons are locked behind it. The new Operation, Buried Debts, seems to have arrived in two parts. The first… [Continue Reading]

Shiny Pidgey and Rattata are now in Pokemon Go!

Hope you weren’t feeling burnt out by all these last-minute events in Pokemon Go, because Niantic just announced another one! https://twitter.com/PokemonGoApp/status/1100139961750298625 Today is Pokemon Day, the 23rd anniversary of when Pokemon Red and Green first came out on GameBoy in 1996! To celebrate, Niantic’s taking a walk down memory lane by dedicating an event to the Pokemon that players encounter at the beginning of those games. From February 26 to February 28th, Kanto legendaries are returning to raids (probably the birds, though I’m crossing my fingers for Shadow Ball Mewtwos), Pikachu and Eevee spawns will be wearing flower crowns, and… [Continue Reading]
