Volt, Mercy and Handsome Jack go to Cyprus Comic Con 2017

It’s Comic Con time! Yep, old Medic here is going out into the real world for a change, getting some sun on her face and potentially even socializing with other people. How silly is that? Well, not very because I did this last year, while dressed up as the Pyro. Oh and I did it back in 2015 as well, where I dressed up as a female version of Malzahar from League of Legends. Unlike most articles, I’ll be updating this one as I go along, so check back every so often and perhaps maybe I’ll have some cool news,… [Continue Reading]

Hello 2017!

Oh look! It’s 2017! 2016 has finally buggered off! Yay! Confetti! Balloons! Celebrations! People walking home all tired and drunk because they stayed up too late last night! Even more people sleeping in because of late night partying! And a bunch of people just living out their lives and not caring. I’m in the latter group. I’m a boring person who doesn’t smoke, drink, take drugs, gamble or do anything interesting. The biggest risk I’ve made recently was charging my laptop for five minutes at 9pm so I could finish a mission and I managed to lose. Hence why I’m… [Continue Reading]

Medic goes to Cyprus Comic Con: Day 2

Well, I got back an hour ago from our trip to and from Nicosia/Lefkosia and it was clear enough to see those dumb horrible Turkish flags painted on the Pentadaktyla mountains. I wasn’t going to write a blog post about today but I decided why not? I’m home early enough and I have to write my 500 words a day anyway, as well as jot down ideas for other articles. Today we decided to be a bit more casual in our costumes. I swapped my long sleeved top for a sleeveless one, ditched the stupid grenades and swapped my flamethrower… [Continue Reading]

Medic goes to Cyprus Comicon 2016

Good day, everyone! Medic here is all excited that she gets to dress up as a video game character and not look like a freak! Today’s article, unlike almost every other article on the Daily SPUF, won’t be written in advance but will be updated as the day goes on, hopefully with a few more pictures. Last year, I dressed up as Malzahar from League of Legends. This year, I am dressed up as Pyro, and I’ve managed to convince Terroxy to dress up as Medic. The event is up in Nicosia/Lefkosia and we have a long day ahead of… [Continue Reading]

Panda Express announces new dish

Panda Express pulled out the works on this new reveal, probably the first time I’ve seen a fast food chain livestream and hype up an addition to their menu. As a diehard Pandaholic (not a real word), I was up and watching as they rolled out the red carpet in their first ever store to announce the new flavor, their first ever Facebook livestream. Then I rushed down to my local Panda Express and gave the new food a try for myself! My opinion? It’s not as flavorful as the orange chicken, and it has a bit of an aftertaste,… [Continue Reading]

I Attended DreamHack 2016!

DreamHack was in Austin this weekend, which means it was a short fifteen minutes away from my house! Due to other obligations, I was only able to attend on Sunday, but I was okay with that because it meant I’d get to see the Grand Finals of my first ever Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament. The CS:GO tournament in question was open only to North-American teams, though two Brazilian teams were also in attendance; Luminosity Gaming and Tempo Storm. Friday and Saturday had seen all but 4 teams eliminated in knockout format, and both of the aforementioned were still in circulation,… [Continue Reading]

Happy Independence Finland

First, lets get some music here: Now that we are listening one of the most beautiful pieces of orchestrated music in recent history (and by recent I mean music made from 1800 forwards), we shall discuss what this national holiday entails, and a little bit of the other holiday on the same date, St. Nicholas’ day. First thing to discuss about this independence day is what was we became independent from. Now, I could go into a lot more detail about the entire history of this region from about 1100 (when the crusades started to come into the north) all… [Continue Reading]

Distractions

Though I’ve seen plenty of articles on the Daily SPUF about TF2’s loadouts, balance, and players, as well as a ton of pieces on favorite maps and cosmetics, classes and weapons, I haven’t seen much about distractions. I’m not talking about in-game distractions, like the Sandvich Heavy that’s been crouch-walking everywhere for the last 10 minutes, or the 2nd Engineer that insists on placing his Sentry right next to yours. These distractions would make a good article of their own, but it would probably be of a darker tone. Decline and Fall of the TF2 Playerbase, anyone? Now where was… [Continue Reading]

Visiting Engineer’s Hometown

As you may or may not know, I recently moved to Texas. Recently I was on a road trip with my father who’d flown in to visit for the weekend, and we passed a road sign for a Bee Cave, Texas. This piqued my memory banks, so I googled the name on my smart phone and found out it was Dell Conagher’s hometown! So we took a bit of a break to zip into town and check it out. And, uh, I’m sorry to report it’s like the most boring town in existence. It’s pretty much just your average suburbia, Vons… [Continue Reading]

Dress Up Time!

The Team Fortress 2 characters are among the most common seen at gaming or comic conventions, unless you happen to live in Cyprus, where they’re practically non-existent. Scouts run rampant and Spies have been seen infiltrating any dressing up convention they can find, particularly furry ones. Unfortunately for me, opportunities to dress up are few and far between, so I end up dressing up to bake cakes and things. That being said, I’ve got a couple of TF2 costumes at my disposal. But why are TF2 characters so common? Well the obvious reason is because they’re all, to a one,… [Continue Reading]
