What’s your dream unusual?

Dear Aaby, what’s your dream unusual? Question by one of Medic’s siblings. Medic: Ummm, I’m not sure. While I’ve always gone on about how much I like the Otolaryngologist’s Mirror, my dream unusual would actually be a Das Hazmattenhatten with the Spellbound or Arcadia effect. Out of all the recent Halloween effects, those really stand out. A second choice, which would never exist, is orbiting Medic emblems. I say that though, I love my bubbly mirror, despite me being neither a doctor nor drunk. aabicus: For many of the reasons stated in this article, I like Massed Flies as my… [Continue Reading]

A distinct lack of hue and blog posts

With blogs, it’s important to keep them up to date with new content. That’s a very hard job to do, because most things change all the time. Even immobile things like rocks and Brass Beast Heavies change. At best, a blog ought to have content posted regularly, even if it doesn’t go back and fix things that may have changed and stuff like that. Most blogs have multiple people working on them, delivering content on a semi regular basis. At the SPUF blog, TheSupremeCommander hosts the blog, Aabicus and myself maintain the site in general, iGamr announces new posts and… [Continue Reading]

Medi Guns VS Machine

The Stock Medi Gun is considered one of the most powerful weapons in the game, despite the fact that it doesn’t do anything damage-wise. After a nice 40 or so seconds, you get invulnerability for eight seconds, which can only be ruined by knock back and things like that. It’s a force to be reckoned with, a force that can only be countered by sheer power. Unless that power happens to be hordes of robots. It seems as though the Medi Gun is actually the weakest Medi Gun to use in Mann VS Machine! The Kritzkrieg is considered the be-all… [Continue Reading]

Phishing in Sawmill

So, lately, it seems that Team Fortress 2’s trading system has been full of ups and downs. But while no one can predict when the item servers are going to die or when the trading system will go down for the umpteenth time, there IS something you can protect yourself from. Today, we’ll discuss the recent phishing spree. What’s phishing then? Well, according to Wikipedia, it is: Phishing is the act of attempting to acquire information such as usernames, passwords, and credit card details (and sometimes, indirectly, money) by masquerading as a trustworthy entity in an electronic communication. In Team Fortress 2, it’s… [Continue Reading]

In Between – Hybrid Weapons?

The other day, I was browsing the Team Fortress wiki when I stumbled across the Short Stop. To me, the Short Stop has always been one of those  ‘in between’ weapons. It’s a scatter gun and it’s a pistol. It’s a good idea and I used to use it quite a lot in the Milkman set, but the poor hybrid gun is rather sickly, due to all the changes it has endured. Then it occurred to me, what if we had in between weapons for other classes?

Hugging the Ground

One of the many, many reasons I have never gotten into Competitive TF2 is because I’ve always been the sort of person who can’t really get the hang of explosive jumping. I just overall suck at moving in a three dimensional space which is controlled by two dimensional movements. That sounds complicated, but it’s just a fancy way of saying that I’m crap. That’s me being harsh on myself. I’m an okay Medic. My dodging skills are quite good. My awareness is about average. My general skill level is about average. The one thing I cannot get a hang of,… [Continue Reading]

Dancing Hazardously around a Das Hazmattenhatten!

Fun fact: Das Hazmattenhatten is a really annoying word to type, even worse than Otolaryngologist’s Mirror. But since it’s a nice hat and it’s got a stupidly long name, not to mention that it’s got some unique properties, I feel it’s worth an article. So here we go! The Das Hazmattenhatten was added in the July 10th patch in 2013, also known as the Move That Gear Up! update. This was the same update that gave the Quick Fix overheal, made the Vaccinator the best choice for cp_orange and nothing else and changed the Crossbow’s projectile to a giant syringe.… [Continue Reading]

Voice Lines – Scout

One of the things that makes Team Fortress 2 unique, apart from the cartoon style, the unique classes, the cool weapons, the hats and a bunch of other stuff, is all the chatter. Most of this talking comes from the voice lines spewed from our favourite mercenaries while killing each other, so you don’t always hear them. In this article, I’m going to rectify this problem, starting with the Scout.
