Khora – The Queen of All Trades

Khora Urushu Skin with Kavat and Venari

Ever since Khora came out, I’ve been saying that Khora is a strong frame. Alright, for the first few days, she was really lackluster. But after an initial round of buffs, Khora turned into a really good frame. So good in fact that she’s now considered one of the nest nuke frames around, closer to Mesa and Saryn than anyone else. But Khora has something that those two don’t – the ability to be a jack of all trades. Really, Khora has it all. She’s probably one of the strongest frames in Warframe right now. Especially with a nuke build.… [Continue Reading]

Why Do I Not Enjoy Destiny 2?

A Warlock staring at a Comatose Traveller.

I don’t understand this. Destiny 2 isn’t a bad game. At least, it’s not the awful game it started out as. Destiny 2 had a very rocky start initially, however, it slowly managed to pull itself up. The game improved further when Bungie managed to get full control of the game. Right now though, Destiny 2 is in the middle of a massive story-based conflict. There’s massive evil dark pyramids that are threatening to destroy various places, and everyone’s preparing for war. Really, between the lore, the gun play, the setting and the fact it’s free to play (now at… [Continue Reading]

A Biased Guide on What to Subsume and Use with Helminth

Just build a wall in front of your Helminth and ignore it.

I’m pretty biased when it comes to the Helminth system. When it comes to the surface idea, I think the Helminth system is great. But when you look more deeply at it, you can tell that it’s all a mess. The costs are arbitrary and all over the place, the abilities chosen are weird, some have been arbitrarily nerfed. And, of course, there was the Marked for Death ability that made Ash good for about five seconds. That being said, I’ve been playing around a little with the Helminth system, and I’ve come up with a very simple, very biased… [Continue Reading]

Ash is Good, but…

Ash Prime with a Zaw

I’ve been playing both a lot of Index and a lot of Steel Path lately. When I play the same things over and over, I tend to not want to constantly change my Warframe a lot. I also don’t often use specific Warframes for specific tasks, I tend to prefer a generalist Warframe over a specific one. After all, Volt and Saryn are both nuke frames, but I prefer Volt due to his versatility. And while both Loki and Ivara are higher on my most-played list of Warframes, Ash has always been my invisibility frame of choice. Ash is a… [Continue Reading]

My Favourite Skyrim Dragon Textures

The Colorful Dragons 3 Frost Dragon

This article was originally going to be one of those articles. You know, the articles we have about nude mods. In fact, we have quite a few articles about Skyrim’s nude mods, but none actually recommending actual nude mods. There is plenty of choice when it comes to Skyrim nudity, but I’m not actually that well versed in it. I just got the most common female body mod, installed one of its many versions and called it a day. And I couldn’t even remember what it was called. I had to open up Mod Organizer to check it out. Once… [Continue Reading]

1000 Team Rocket Fights Later…

The Gold Medal for defeating 1000 Team Go Rocket members

In July of 2019, Team GO Rocket appeared in Pokemon Go, attacking Pokestops and stealing items. While Team GO Rocket hasn’t had much effect on daily gameplay, it’s always been a thing. There’s even a multitude of medals to get, all related to Team GO Rocket. The problem is that, because they’re basically a side task, you can safely ignore Team Go Rocket and their myriad of grunts. Me though? I wanted to get the gold medal for defeating grunts. On September 15th 2020, I finally got that gold medal. 1000 grunts defeated. Seems like a long time I mean,… [Continue Reading]

Porygon Community Day – Eh

Being stalked by Porygons

Porygon was the winner of the community day vote back in August, a vote that was done on Twitter. Considering the other options in the vote, it’s no wonder Porygon won. Charmander has featured in multiple events and already had a community day. Grimer already has two shiny forms and, worse, the Alolan one would be restricted to raids only. And Caterpie is, well, Caterpie. But even then, Porygon community day has been… meh. “Why did Porygon even win?” That’s a good question. Porygn isn’t an amazing Pokemon. But, compared to the other options, it kinda is. Porygon didn’t have… [Continue Reading]

On Payday 3

Starbreeze’s quarterly report has been published in PDF form, showcasing a PowerPoint discussing the future of the company, its IPs, and (most importantly) the upcoming Payday 3 in very limited detail. Users on the Steam Discussions forum and Payday subreddit have been rampantly hypothesizing how the game’s going to be. Since we don’t have any actual gameplay to discuss, the prevailing question is whether Overkill is going to focus on quality (like in Payday the Heist) or quantity (like in Payday 2) when designing the content that will be in-game on release. The prevailing opinion is that they’ll go for… [Continue Reading]

The Lore-Based Reason Why Pyro is a Mediocre Character

Pyro is basically a furry anyway.

I’ve talked about Pyro a lot in the past. While I don’t play much Team Fortress 2 at all any more, most of my friends do. And because of that, I hear a lot of… varying criticisms about the game. Mostly about Pyro. The Pyro has always been a pretty polarizing class, but also a somewhat spoiled class. While Pyro’s game balance may be all over the place, Pyro has by far the zaniest and most varied cosmetics and is probably one of the more popular characters. Despite being a short-ranged menace in a game that isn’t designed with close… [Continue Reading]

Differentiating Maps Through Gameplay, part 2

Previously I used Left 4 Dead 2 to showcase “thematic gameplay“, a development philosophy whereby each map in the game gets a subtle tweak to the core gameplay loop to make it feel different from the rest the game has to offer. Payday the Heist is actually another masterclass in this philosophy, so to reinforce my point I thought I’d discuss how a second title used thematic gameplay to create very memorable and distinguishable heists. 1. First World Bank First World Bank doesn’t really have any gimmicks, as it’s setting the baseline for the rest of the game. One after… [Continue Reading]
