A Perfect Ending to a Mythical Discovery

After so damn long, I finally managed to finish A Mythical Discovery, the special research in Pokemon Go for Mew. I got stuck on this quest so many damn times. But it all finished very abruptly and probably in the best way possible. So the Mew quest is a bit of a funny one, and is actually a requirement if you want to do the Celebi quest. The Celebi quest unlocks when you reach stage 4 of 8 of A Mythical Discovery. But both quests are pretty similar, with the same old series of steps. The Mew quest though doesn’t… [Continue Reading]

Why Khora, Ivara and Volt?

I’ll be honest, I really, really liked Medicinal Warlock’s series of articles on why he plays various TF2 classes. I actually considered doing something similar, but frankly 1. I didn’t want to copy him directly, 2. his reasons for playing each class are actually pretty similar to mine already (especially Pyro…) and 3. I’ve actually already written various articles on why I play various classes. In fact, we’ve had other people write articles on TF2 classes as well. I’ll just do an article about Warframe choices then. Because why not. So yeah, I really like three frames in particular. Long… [Continue Reading]

Chimera Prologue – A New Mini Quest

I’ll be honest, I was surprised when I heard that there was a new quest included in the recent Warframe update. The fact that it was 3GB suggested that there was more behind the scenes, but I just assumed that 3GB was all part of the huge number of bug fixes and changes or something. Nope, there’s a mini quest. Heads up! Spoilers ahead, because this quest is basically a HUGE spoiler of what’s to come. If you want to play it, you need to have completed every other main quest up until now, including the Sacrifice. Chimera Prologue has… [Continue Reading]

A Spy Mission on Europa

Volt made sure everything was dead before he hacked the console to open the door. He needed to go deeper into this horrible wreckage, deeper into the remains of massive Corpus ship that had crashed into an Infested breeding ground. Why? Because there was some useful data on three consoles somewhere which the Tenno Council really needed right now, and there was a massive Void fissure that needed closing. Volt and three other, somewhat random Tenno, had decided to accept this mission. Or, at least, Volt assumed the Tenno Council needed it. Clearly the Lotus didn’t. She seemed to be… [Continue Reading]

Dreams of the Most Badass Game Ever

You ever get a dream that’s so awesome and badass that you wake up and think “HOLY FUCK I WANT TO DO THAT AGAIN?” Well that’s what I had the other night. To the point that I still vividly remember parts of it later on. It was a dream about the most badass game ever. And sadly, a game that will never exist, most likely due to licensing and copyrights. So, this dream was presented to me in the form of a comic convention and a magazine stand filled with copies of PC Gamer. Some sort of special edition magazine… [Continue Reading]

How Do They Eat? Early Warframe Lore Ideas

It’s been known for years that the Warframes we use to kick the asses of Corpus, Grineer and Infested weren’t always what we thought they were. They were never really just people. What they were, we didn’t know. Early lore suggested that the original Warframes were feral and terrifying, hungry, destructive monsters. Rhino Prime’s codex entry (unlocked by owning Rhino Prime and viewing him in your Codex on your ship) was one such example, noting a story from an Orokin scientist, watching as an early Rhino Warframe kills and eats his fellow scientists, only to be calmed by the presence… [Continue Reading]

Why is Mann VS Machine Fun?

As one can tell from my increasing play times and number of articles about Warframe, despite the fact I still call myself Medic, I play very little Team Fortress 2 any more. Normally, you can’t get me to even open the game. I refuse to touch the competitive mode with a pointy stick, I couldn’t chill out enough to play community competitive and playing Medic in pubs is often a tiring experience as any Medic will tell you. But if someone invites me to play Mann VS Machine? Fuck it, I’m in! But why? What drives me to play what… [Continue Reading]

A Ripple in Time – Special Research for Celebi

Special Research in Pokemon Go is, as the name suggests, special research that has you go through various tasks, working your way towards a legendary Pokemon. At the time of writing, there are two special research quests, the Mew Quest “A Mythical Discovery” and the Celebi Quest “A Ripple in Time”. While I still need about 60 more Magikarp candies for the Mew quest, I’m so close to catching that damn Celebi. It’s been a real slog. Funnily enough, step one was simple. I had to power up Pokemon five times by feeding them candy, I had to battle in… [Continue Reading]

On Sortie Rewards

Now that I’m an experienced enough player to actually do Sorties, I actually enjoy doing them. Sorties are a bit of a challenge and can throw some unusual scenarios in your way, as well as occasionally catching you by surprise when you realise you don’t have a decent bow. You can also get some pretty damn useful rewards from sorties. But most of the time you don’t. So, the current Sortie reward pool consists of an Anasa Ayatan Sculpture (worth about 3450 Endo when filled), 4000 Endo, a veiled Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol or Melee Riven Mod, 6000 Kuva, a 3-day Resource, Affinity,… [Continue Reading]

Bows and Arrows in a Space Ninja Setting

If traditional guns and bullets were the weapons of the Old Ways, used to defeat the Sentients in an ancient war, then Bows are the weapons of the Seriously Really Old Ways, the one thing the Sentients could never corrupt and adapt to. Really, how much can you fuck up a flexible material, some string and some pointy sticks? Which, apart from maybe the Mutalist Cernos and the Lenz, every bow basically is. I do like bows. They used to be my preferred weapon of choice until I discovered there was a flamethrower. Bows are actually pretty strong, all things… [Continue Reading]
