Annoying Little Pricks

When I announced a Week of Love and Hate, I tried to be different. I wanted everyone else to have a crack at writing something before I decided to write my articles. I ended up writing about Pyro and Medic. What I REALLY wanted to do though was write about Scout. I mean, come on! He’s so hate-able! He’s an annoying little prick. Alright, take a deep breath, Medic. It’s just Scout. Except he’s always there. An Engineer will, nine times out of ten, be whacking a sentry. A Sniper will be a cowardly bastard and hide. Pyros? Pyros are… [Continue Reading]

How to be a Model SPUFer

I’m a model SPUFer. Fourteen thousand posts. Three thousand rep. Five stars. Nearly everyone loves me. Whoever doesn’t love me generally gets torn apart by a bunch of Soldiers and Demomen all eager to get my heals. Few people genuinely think I’m an idiot. And I’m well known, at least within the realms of the Steam User Forums. Is this all because I have a gimmicky username? No. It’s because of a few simple things that everyone ought to consider while posting on any forum. Today, I present to you how to be a model SPUFer. Like me. 1. Follow… [Continue Reading]

The Ubervitatator Vow and Other Beta Weapons

I was browsing around the official TF2 wiki when I remembered the old TF2 Beta. Originally, the beta was a separate, 12GB download, in which Valve occasionally tested stuff like the Overdose, a bunch of pocket Soldier weapons and the Detonator. A lot of stuff that happened in the beta stayed in the beta, never to be seen again. One of those things was a souped up Vita-Saw. Yes, a Vita-Saw. One of the beta patches gave the Vita-Saw the ability to see enemy health. I never got to try this ungodly combination, but it must have been somewhat amusing.… [Continue Reading]

A Heads Up

Good day everyone! I just wanted to gather everyone round so I could have a quick chat with you all. Really, I should do this more often, you know, as a community thing. First things first, I’d like to thank you all for A Week of Love and Hate. It was a success! And it was awesome seeing lots of articles written by lots of people. It really made a change. It was also nice having a week of me not having to actually write anything at all. There’s also something interesting to note: We all thought in a similar… [Continue Reading]

Source 2 and stuff.

I know I’m late. I was asleep. Sorry. According to everywhere but here, Valve have announced that Source 2 is an actual, real thing. Then again, we already knew that, I guess. All the fuss comes from the GDC, where Valve developers are doing some talks and stuff based on physics and things like that. Not only that, but there’s also been other less TF2, more PC gaming in general news, with Unreal Engine 4 now being completely free until you start making actual real money, and even then they don’t ask of much. Then there’s Unity 5, which has… [Continue Reading]

One Last Heist…

…until I can go Infamous. That’s what I told myself as I broke into the ATM at the Four Stores convenience mart and waited for the escape vehicle. Despite my best efforts to dislike the blatant grinding aspects of Payday 2, the lure of the co-op Left 4 Dead 2-inspired gameplay and the TLC (and DLC) the devs showered the game with on a weekly basis was too much to ignore. Somehow, despite still feeling like a complete newbie to the world of bank robbery I had reached the $200 million required funds in my offshore account, and after this ATM I’d… [Continue Reading]

Medic’s Fourth Ever Competitive Match – Things Get Exciting!

So yes, this time, I actually have something to report! An actual close match! This one was really close, and at one point it looked like it was all over for us. A quick note first. The last two games, I didn’t really go into detail. Not because we lost, not at all. It’s just there’s not much to write about when you get steam rolled. And admittedly, if it wasn’t for the excitement of my first ever match, I wouldn’t have written about Stallone either. Anyway, let’s get started! The map this time was Maple Ridge, a KOTH map,… [Continue Reading]

My Top 9 Favorite Team Fortress 2 Unlocks

Unlockable weapons. Team Fortress 2 has a LOT of them. And aside from the occasional overpowered(Machina, Baby Face’s Blaster, Darwin’s Danger Shield) or underpowered(Sun-on-a-Stick, Eviction Notice, Panic Attack) ones, most of them work really well. Heck, certain unlocks have even become synonymous with Stock, like Sandvich and Ubersaw, or completely change up a class’s playstyle, like Chargin’ Targe and Huntsman. To honor these excellent weapons, I thought it would be appropriate to list my 9 favorite Team Fortress 2 unlockable weapons. A few ground rules before we begin: 1. No Stock weapons, for obvious reasons 2. No reskins of existing… [Continue Reading]

Leave Impracticality 4 Dead

Every single element in Left 4 Dead 2 is there for a reason. Its features, weapons, zombie types, etc are balanced between each other and have their own role to play. All unnecessary aspects of the setting have been trimmed out, boiling the zombie apocalypse into a polished and nuanced nutshell. It’s a great game for players new and old, as a standard normal-difficulty campaign can throw enough curveballs to keep veterans on their toes while also letting the inexperienced focus on reaching the next safe room and surviving. However, if you limit yourself to only the base game, you’re… [Continue Reading]

Sham1 tries to CS:GO Part 1- The Beginning

Four thousand five hundred hours of TF2 and counting, one hundred and forty one hours of CS:GO. This is my  first blog post about my attempts at getting decent at Counter-Strike. This picture pretty much sums my experience with CS:GO at this point. The question of “How should I play this game?” is very important to me, and because I myself am a person who does not like to do stuff like matchmaking on games like this before I know I am very good at it, it will probably stay like that for awhile. But because I got myself a FACEIT account, I… [Continue Reading]
